Nnamdi kanu of Ipob Biafra leader laid his parents body Eze Israel Kanu and his wife Sally to rest on Friday February 14, 2020 at Afaraukwu Ibeku community in Umuahia, Abia state capital. This is the residence of the deceased couple who was the traditional ruler of his community before he died.
As there was a threat to Nnamdi kanu ipob Biafra leader that the burial service will be dismantle, there was heavy security patrol in the community area and some other parts of Umuahia just to maintain peace and there was no sign of threat till the end of the party.
Shops and markets are shut down and some schools in the community area just to pay the monarch deceased last respect.
The sympathisers, who dress in various Igbo traditional attires and burial uniforms, sat calmy in canopies mounted within the precincts of the Kanu’s country home. Many meeled around in groups, dancing to chants of Igbo songs, praising the legaices of the deceased.
While on interview with the News Agency of Nigeria [NAN], the state Police public relations officer Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna said the area had been calm and things are going orderly.
